党的十六届六中全会审议通过了《中共中央关于构建社会主义和谐社会若干重大问题的决定》,提出了构建社会主义和谐社会的主要目标和任务。高校是和谐社会的重要组成部分,因此,在构建社会主义和谐社会中,高校工会如何充分发挥桥梁纽带作用,率领广大教职工努力构建和谐校园,进一步稳定教职工队伍,全面落实党的教育方针,为社会主义建设事业培养大批的合格人才,是在新的形势下高校工会组织一项光荣而重要的任务。
