素质教育是我国教育改革与发展的主旋律,一直受到社会各界的广泛关注。英语素质教育作为素质教育的一个重要组成部分,在教育改革发展中有着至关重要的作用。而英语又作为基础教育阶段的基础学科,承担着“提高中华民族的思想道德素质、文化科学素质和身体心理素质”的历史任务。但由于各种原因,当今农村初中的英语教学与素质教育的要求还有很大的差距。作为英语教学的我们,必须为此努力。
Quality education is the main theme of education reform and development in our country and it has been widely concerned by all walks of life. As an important part of quality education, English quality education plays an important role in the educational reform and development. However, English, as the basic discipline of basic education, undertakes the historical mission of “improving the ideological and moral qualities, cultural scientific qualities and physical psychological qualities of the Chinese nation.” However, due to various reasons, today’s rural junior high school English teaching and quality education requirements are still a big gap. As English teaching, we must work hard for it.
