地质概况苏州西部地区位于我国东部中生代活动大陆边缘,昆山—湖州—赣东北深大断裂带的西侧。区内广覆第四系,地层出露较少,大都由钻孔揭露,主要为志留系中上统一三叠系中下统,缺失三叠系上统。本区西北部为大片侏罗系火山岩覆盖。印支期北东走向的短轴木渎向斜和潭山—倪之圩、阳山—穹窿山—蒋墩逆推断裂构成本区的基本构造格架。
Geological Survey Western Suzhou is located in the eastern margin of the Mesozoic continental margin in China, Kunshan - Huzhou - Jiangxi northeast deep fault zone to the west. The Quaternary is covered extensively in the area with less strata exposed. Most of them are revealed by drilling, mainly in the Middle-Upper Triassic Middle-Lower Middle of the Silurian and the Lower Triassic. The northwestern part of this area is covered by large-scale Jurassic volcanic rocks. The Indosinian northeast trending short axis Mudu syncline and the Tamshan-Nizhiwei, Yangshan-Yunlongshan-Jiangdu thrust thrust faults constitute the basic tectonic framework of this area.
