刘进步把三只老鼠从家里拎出来。他不是用手,而是用一块木板,木板像教书先生的写字板。事实上,那真是一张写字板,是他从废弃的村小学里捡来的。刘进步从家里出来时拎着这块写字板,写字板上面有三只老鼠。三只老鼠在写字板上排成一行,队形很整齐,很有秩序,像刘进步吹着哨子叫出来的。只不过老鼠没有刘进步那样自由,身上都有两根铁丝,一根勒在脖子上,一根勒在肚子上。刘进步拎着写字板从家里走出来时,三只老鼠一直在吱吱吱地叫,叫声很尖锐,像被谁在背后捅了刀子。刘进步没有给它们身上捅刀子,虽然它们吃过了界畔,给墙上钻了个洞,从隔壁吃到了他家。他只是用几根铁丝把它们捆绑在木板上。
