This article describes a program-controlled, mobile, automated radiotelephone system that uses distributed microprocessors widely for location control, automatic channel assignment (relay) and bidirectional signaling (between mobile and control). All switches are solid, the main processor connected to the internal system components, if necessary, through the high-speed multi-bus, connected to the external processor and other devices. A variety of different interfaces are available for connecting with auxiliary equipment such as telephone switches and video displays.
