舞台上老旦,演唱上要具有老年特色的声音和唱腔,以声腔传情;做工上尤其注重运用稳重的步伐、表情、身段、眼神与念自来刻画人物。《穆桂英大战洪洲》中的“佘太君”,《一把存忠剑》中的“吴母”,《九宝莲》中的“周陈氏”等等,我都饰演过。这些人物都各有自己独特的性格特征,但终离不开“慈爱善良,深明大义”这八个字。而在《一把存忠剑》中的“吴母”,是我颇喜欢演的一个角色,也是我研究得最多最深的
