当今,中国的雕塑事业,特别是城市雕塑出现了空前的繁荣景象,早现出一派城市雕塑“大生产”的热潮,各种各样的展览、创作营活动接连不断,各种形式的学术研讨会相继召开,新作、力作屡有问世,雕塑新人层出不穷。现在政府的工作重点是经济建设、文化建设、城市建设齐头并进,而现代城市文化的建设和城市建设开发的成果就是一尊尊城市雕塑的矗立。于是,谈论雕塑的人逐渐多了,关注城市雕塑的逐渐多了,从事城市雕塑设计创作的人逐渐多了,城市雕塑建设的形式也就日趋多样化了。
