永定县位于福建西南部,是闽西的南大门,全县总面积2223平方公里,人口47.2万人,下辖24个乡镇。永定物华天宝,资源优势十分突出。一是有丰富的矿产资源。是福建省主要矿区,无烟煤、耐火粘土、石灰石、花岗岩是永定县主要矿种。其中煤炭储量4.95亿吨,石灰石4.5亿吨,“福建红”花岗岩3.3亿立方米,石英砂储量1亿吨。二是有丰富的农业开发资源。具有气候、土壤条件的多样性,适于多种经济作物种植。永定有400多年种烟历史,是全国40个优质烤烟产区之一,其烤烟是国内配制高级卷烟不可缺少的主要原料,被评为全国烤烟之乡;永定红柿、“六月红”芋子等特色农作物种
