福州第一中学组织学生到农村参加生产劳动,取得了很大的收获。《人民日报》今年六月五日在第一版上刊载了他们的材料,并且发了社论,本刊为了把这方面的具体经验提供给各地学校参考,又请福州一中比较详细地把他们的经验写成文章,连同武汉九中关于下乡劳动的文章,一齐在这里发表。两个学校的经验说明,城市中学特别是年级比较高的学生,每年集中一定时间到农村去参加生产劳动,非常必要。今天我们的农村是最能锻炼人教育人的地方,下乡劳动,不仅对于为农业服务的教育易于深入进行,使学生参加农业劳动,体验稼穑的艰难,也是最扎实的生产斗争的锻炼;而且更重要的是引导学生比较深入地认识当前农村实际,增加他们阶级和阶级斗争的感情知识,和贫、下中农群众打成一片,培养新的思想感情,这是一种深刻的生动的阶级教育。我们相信这些基本经验将会使更多的学校得到启发,为进一步贯彻党的教育方针,更好地组织学生下厂、下乡参加生产劳动,创造更多的经验。

This is also the most solid exercise in the production struggle; and More importantly, it is a profound and vivid class education that guides students to have a deeper understanding of current rural areas and increase their knowledge of the feelings of classes and class struggles, and to integrate the poor and the middle peasants in the middle of the mountain to cultivate new thoughts and feelings. We believe that these basic experiences will inspire more schools.
