Most people’s lives are like a do-it-yourselfer. The rules and forms seem to be limited. The answer to the rule that birds fly in the sky and the fish swim in the water is the most likely answer. While some people want to make life a creative subject without too much restraint, they have the courage to “fly fish in the sky,” and there is no lack of great wisdom for “birds swimming in the water.” The beauty of an artist lies in his strong creative ability. The greatness of a scientist is also his ability to whim and act. Both of these abilities are embodied in the Chinese-American painter Lin Wen-jie. As a scientist, he is using scientific brains to make scientific propositions on painting materials themselves, thinking deeply and repeatedly practicing and inventing The “refraction painting.” This may be a few years later, a new category of painting will be promoted and flourished.
