本刊开辟《在市长岗位上》一栏,将不定期地刊登一些城市的市长讨论城市建设的文章。在我国,城市的产生和发展已经有几千年的历史。全国解放后三十多年来,我们设市的城市,已经由解放前的六十个(台湾省未统计在内)增加到一九八三年底的二百八十九个。在党的领导下,这些城市的面貌已经发生了根本的变化,在国民经济和社会发展中发挥着越来越大的作用。列宁曾经指出:“城市是经济、政治和人民的精神生活的中心,是前进的主要动力。”在我国社会主义现代化建设的进程中,应该充分发挥城市的作用,把城市建设成为具有高度文明和高度民主的政治、经济、文化中心。本期发表了三位市长的文章,谈的都是城市建设中有关方面的协调问题。
Articles open “in the mayoral post” column will be published from time to time some city mayors discuss urban construction articles. In our country, the birth and development of cities have been for thousands of years. For more than three decades after the country was liberated, the cities we set up in our city have increased from 60 before liberation (not counting Taiwan Provinces) to 189 in the end of 1983. Under the leadership of the party, the appearance of these cities has undergone fundamental changes and is playing an increasingly greater role in the national economy and social development. Lenin once pointed out: “The city is the center of economic, political and people’s spiritual life and the main driving force for progress.” In the process of socialist modernization in our country, we should give full play to the role of the city and make the city a highly civilized and Highly democratic political, economic and cultural center. In this issue, three mayors’ articles were published, all of which talk about the coordination of relevant parties in urban construction.
