The world’s organic pigment industry started in the 1960s and has a history of more than 130 years. It is basically in sync with the dye industry. From the 1930s to the 1970s, the organic pigment industry developed at the fastest time, and the pigment structure category and species development were also concentrated at this stage. After entering the 1980s, the organic pigment industry experienced a period of adjustment and recombination. Many small and medium-sized organic pigment manufacturing enterprises with a production scale of 2,000 to 4,000 t/a required a large amount of funds for the construction of wastewater treatment plants and Competitive pressure from large companies has sold their own technologies and industries to big companies. In this way, by the early 1990s, the world’s organic pigments industry had become more centralized. Production and development were basically concentrated in seven large companies such as Dainippon Ink, Toyo Ink, Dainichi Seiki, Ciba, BASF, Hoechst, and ICI.
