唐菖蒲为鸢尾科唐菖蒲属的球根植物。原产非洲、欧洲及西亚一带,其中以非洲栽培最为广泛。其球根为纤维质皮膜包被之球茎;叶呈剑状,初夏抽穗,开漏斗状之花,自下方渐次开放。适于露地栽培,盆栽亦宜。是作切花的好材料。唐菖蒲露地栽培时,宜于3、4月间种植球根,圃地宜选在排水良好,阳光直射,富含腐殖质之砂质
