Access to suspended matter concentrations and related information in nearshore waters is important for understanding and managing the marine environment. Historically, the monitoring of the concentration of suspended matter has often passed the time-consuming and labor-intensive sea-going observation. However, this observation has its own limitations. Only one station can be obtained for each observation. In order to obtain information on the concentration of instantaneous suspended solids more quickly and effectively, many new monitoring methods and related technologies have been developed and applied. A variety of airborne and satellite-borne remote sensing devices are used to obtain timely and comprehensive sediment information. In 2000, Dominique Durand and Jerome Bijaoui published an article on optical sensing devices that can be effectively used in shallow marine environments for a variety of environmental parameters. Yogesh C, Agrawal H C, Pottsmith et al. Attempted to obtain information on suspended sediment concentrations and their associated particle size distributions using laser-sensing equipment in 2001. Francisco Pedocchi, Marcelo H, Garcia in 2006 analyzed the reliability of particle size and settling velocity monitoring of suspended solids using Laser In-Situ Scattering and Transmissometry (LISST-ST). H K Ha, Hsu W Y In 2009, he tried to monitor the condensable sediment concentration using acoustic Doppler velocimetry (ADV). Chen Shuisen and Fang Ligang successfully applied seawater turbidity remote sensing information in 2009 to study the influence of sediment intrusion into the Yellow River mouth. In this paper, most of the technologies and methods for sediment concentration monitoring in water bodies (Haikou, nearshore, etc.) are reviewed in recent years. At the same time show a specific application of ABS examples, through a better understanding of the advantages of various monitoring methods. The advantages, the scope of application and other related information of Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter (ADV) widely used in the world recently are analyzed in detail. Contrast the traditional analysis methods and modern analysis methods, in order to present the development trend of the future marine suspended matter concentration monitoring technology.
