Japan is an earthquake country. During the construction of earth-rock dam, it is necessary to know the impact of earthquakes on the stability of the dam. As a result of conducting on-site tests to explore the arbitrary stability of seismic forces on the dam, it is imperative to conduct a model test. For the earth-rock dam vibration model tests, Ray W. Kellogg’s and Davide Peitz’s at the University of California, San Diego, Japan and Kyoto University, Japan have been conducted. This paper describes the vibration test of earth-rock dams, the author uses the impact of vibration tank, the model scale is 1/100 (dam height of 65 meters), carried out under different strong earthquakes and the reservoir water and non-storage conditions Vibration test. The vibration results at the measuring points of the upstream and downstream slope of the central core-wall earth-rock embankment dam, the center of the slope and the crest of the dam were recorded and the test results of the cycle, amplitude and other test results were analyzed. Describes the results of the vibration test at the University of California, Kyoto, Japan.
