水平连续铸钢机经多年试验研究之后,已获成功,并为工业生产所接受和逐渐得到推广应用。其优点是:1.连铸机高度低,由中间罐至地坪约为3500毫米。结晶器中心线至地坪约为1300毫米。一般布置在炼钢车间铸锭跨的地坪上,也能够布置在已建成的中小型炼钢车间内。2.设备重量轻,不需要坚强的支承金属结构,机组布置紧凑,占地面积小。一台单流机组占地长约18米,宽15米,基建投资较低。3.钢水进入结晶器时,勿须避免氧化的防护设施,不需钢水液面控制装置,铸坯不易变形,凝固较快且不受弯曲式矫直应力,不易产生裂纹,内部组织均匀。
