可控硅无级变速及电磁离合器这两项新技术在机床工业中日益广泛地被人们所重视和采用。国外已成功地应用在各类金属切削机床和部分锻压设备上。其中锻压自动机上的应用更为普遍。例如日本阪寸株式会社生产的各种自动冷镦机(钢球冷镦机、多工位螺栓螺母冷镦机、单双击冷镦机等),意大利Ingramatic公司生产的转盘自动搓丝机(俗称流星式滚丝机)均采用了可控硅无级变速。法国R.HERCKELBOUT & FILS公司生产的自动卷簧机采用了电磁离合器控制送料。美国Torrington公司及瑞士Schenker公司也发展了电磁离合器控制送料的卷簧机。
