突然间大地抖动起来,并迅即波及到大半个中国和东南亚地区。世界各地的地震台站立刻把焦点聚集到了位于北纬31°、东经103.4°的县城——四川省汶川县,尽管地震部门最初把这次地震定位在7.8级,但人们很快意识到,汶川大地震是中国1949年以来破坏性最强、波及范围最广、救灾难度最大的一次地震,后经详细科学计算,最终将震级确定为8.0级,烈度11度。让我们从地震科学的角度看看这次大地震是怎样发生的。
All of a sudden the earth was shaking and soon spread to more than half of China and Southeast Asia. Seismological stations around the world immediately focused their attention on Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province, a county town located 31 degrees north latitude and 103.4 degrees east longitude. Although the earthquake department originally positioned the earthquake at 7.8 level, people soon realized that Wenchuan University Earthquake is China’s most destructive since 1949, covering the most extensive, the most difficult disaster relief earthquake, after a detailed scientific calculation, the final magnitude will be determined as 8.0, the intensity of 11 degrees.
