显影黑白照相底片时,为适应照相时各种被摄体和不同的摄影条件,想要得到合适的调子,必需选择不同的显影液和调整显影时间。但是从底片印放照片时,常常不是去选择显影液,而是挑选调子合适的照相纸。如果单纯改变显影液的浓度和变化显影时间来调整调子,照片的色调往往变坏,尤其是近年来生产的照相纸,即使改变显影时间,调子的变化也不大。
