Objective To investigate the changes of β catenin expression in pancreatic cancer after interventional chemotherapy and analyze its clinical significance. Methods From 2000 to 2002, 23 patients with direct surgery (control group) and 20 patients with preoperative interventional chemotherapy (intervention group), respectively, were examined by immunohistochemistry to analyze the abnormality of β catenin Differences in expression rates. Results The abnormal expression of β catenin in control group was 69.6%, and the intervention group was 391%, which was significantly lower than that in the former group (P <0.05). The difference between the two groups was not significant. However, after interventional chemotherapy, CT showed abnormal cytoplasmic expression of tumor mass in 0, significantly lower than that of tumor without mass reduction (333%, P <0 05), and abnormal expression of plasma membrane had a significant correlation. Conclusions The abnormal expression of β catenin cell membrane can promote the metastasis of carcinoma. The decreased expression of β catenin may inhibit the metastasis. Abnormal expression of intracellular cytoplasm can promote cell proliferation. The abnormal expression of β catenin membrane is significantly reduced after interventional chemotherapy. The role of cell proliferation
