Objective: To investigate the clinical symptoms and signs of secondary epilepsy in children with acute viral encephalitis. Methods: Secondary epilepsy in children with acute viral encephalitis was analyzed by electroencephalography (EEG), cranial CT and MRI respectively. Results: In EEG of children with acute epilepsy with acute epilepsy, abnormal EEG showed diffuse low amplitude or high amplitude slow wave or slow activity, of which about 91.0% appeared focal Slow wave zone or slow wave weakening zone or typical epileptiform discharge; The positive rate of cranial MRI and CT detection of secondary epilepsy lesions were 90.9% and 58.1% respectively. CONCLUSION: Conventional electroencephalography (EEG) can be used as an important clinical examination method in judging the secondary epilepsy caused by acute viral encephalitis. The value of cranial examination for secondary epilepsy MIR examination is significantly better than that of CT examination.
