The United States: a dynasty back In the early 90s of last century, with the departure of the legendary Connors and McEnroe, a group of 20 new-born Americans began to emerge in men’s tennis and create a perfect for the next 10 years American dynasty. One of the best is called Sampras, Agassi, Curie and Zhang Depei, known as the “Big Four Diamonds” of the U.S. men’s tennis. They won a total of 25 Grand Slam titles in their careers and kept the United States in the ATP year-end for the eighth consecutive year until the appearance of the Coulter. All this undoubtedly laid the unshakable king status for the United States in the 1990s.
