我们的报纸,对于亿万人民群众,应该富有极大的吸引力。党报是党的报纸,又是人民群众自己的报纸。人民的正义呼声,人民的革命情绪,人民的合理要求,人民的正确主张,人民的民主权利,天天要跃然活现在自己的报纸上。一张不能很好反映人民意志的报纸,不能成为合格的党报。党报脱离了人民,本身就要发腐生霉。至于那些反对人民的报纸,如象林彪、“四人帮”直接控制的报纸,人民称之为“戈培尔总编辑的造谣报”,“反人民报”,那是公平不过的。在他们把持下,党报的人民气味都被搞掉了。
Our newspapers should be extremely attractive to hundreds of millions of people. Party newspaper is the party’s newspaper, but also the people’s own newspaper. The voice of justice for the people, the revolutionary emotions of the people, the reasonable demands of the people, the correct assertion of the people and the democratic rights of the people are to be vividly displayed in their own newspapers daily. A newspaper that can not well reflect the people’s will can not become a qualified party newspaper. Party newspaper out of the people, itself must be rotten mold. As for the newspapers that oppose the people, such as the newspapers directly controlled by Lin Biao and the Gang of Four, people call it “rumor” and “Anti-People Newspaper” edited by Goebbels chief editor, that is fair. Under their control, the people’s smell of the party newspaper has been riddled.
