危害云南山茶的虫害主要有分瓣臀凹盾蚧、红龟蜡蚧、茶二叉蚜、茶长卷叶蛾、扁刺蛾、茶蓑蛾等。分瓣臀凹盾蚧分瓣臀凹盾蚧是云南山茶花栽培区的主要虫害。该虫以口针刺入叶片组织内吸取汁液危害。雄虫密集于叶背,分泌大量白色蜡粉。雌成虫繁殖力强,常在受害植株的叶片上布满新旧介壳,封闭叶片气孔,轻则使树势衰弱,重则造成大量叶片枯黄、凋落,并诱发煤污病,直至整株枯死。
