Following the thin client (NC), people have come up with a new concept - thin server. It appears that today’s world is indeed a world of over-eating and therefore a world that must begin to adopt comprehensive dieting measures. The thin server differs from any other general purpose server, as it may be as small as a Walkman. And often it is much smaller than the NC it’s connected to. They handle many of the features normally handled by “fat” servers such as Windows NT, NetWare, or Unix servers, such as file and print services.
