丁骕先生是我国老一辈地理学家、地貌学家,1949年前长期担任中央大学教授,现定居美国。本刊全文转载丁骕先生1981年发表在《华学月刊》第一一八期的《说中国冰期》一文和1986年4月29日给施雅风理事长、何兴编辑的《关于中国第四纪冰川问题通信》(题为编者加),旨在介绍海外学者对中国第四纪冰川及环境问题的观点,勾通海内外学者对这一问题的讨论,以推动我国第四纪冰川研究的深入发展。相信国内学者将会从丁骕先生的论述中得到有益的启发。
Mr. Ding is an older generation of geographers and geomorphologists in China. He was a professor of Central University before 1949 and now lives in the United States. The full text of this publication reprinted in 2011, Mr. Ding Bing published in the “China School Monthly” the first eighteen “say Chinese ice age” one article and April 29, 1986 to ShiYaFeng director, editor HeXing “about quaternary Glacier Communication ”(titled“ Editor’s Plus ”) aims to introduce the views of overseas scholars on the Quaternary glaciers and environmental issues in China, and to clarify the discussions among scholars at home and abroad on this issue so as to promote the further development of Quaternary glaciers in China . I believe that domestic scholars will be useful from the discussion of Mr. Ding Jian’s inspiration.
