“Today, we do not have to suffer from the old forces’ exclusion, and we think too much of the old forces ruled out.” This goes without saying that in the “May 4th” era, that is, at the beginning of the 21st century, it sounds Is it also quite harsh? Looking back over the past one hundred years, means “conservative ”, “conservative ”, “backward ” on the one hand, and represents “change ”, “innovation ”The fierce clash between the nascent forces of“ progress ”and“ new progress ”can be described as the main theme throughout the twentieth century. The advanced Chinese youth who are insecure about the life and death of their country and cherished with a strong sense of social responsibility and are deeply influenced by the stereotypes and social stagnation can not wait to devote themselves to the morals of the era of reforming the old society and embracing new things and their morality Feelings and dedication are admirable by any means. But it is a fantasy that after a vigorous and full-fledged revolution or transformation movement, all the rubbish in the society and the backward forces that hold back the history will be completely eliminated. For now, it is more of a wishful thinking. Sometimes an old man is like a stubborn old man, dedicated to our romantic fantasy. Let us recall Du Yaquan’s warning more than 80 years ago: “There is no basis for social life and no power in the world. There are no unjust and correct people, Therefore, there is no worker who has no work experience in personal cultivation. ”In Du’s view, what represents the new life of China should be those who are solidly engaged in social undertakings and seek personal development and self-reliance, And to establish a personal credit of the younger generation. The key to real social progress lies in the formation of a middle class consisting mainly of people whose standards are based on old morals, on new morals and on the basis of personal autonomy. With such middle class as the intermediary or core, its social structure can develop along the path of virtuous circle. The author believes that some of the current yelling, cynical “May Fourth ” youth, you can read more of Du’s writings (Shen Qingli)
