语言的使用是根据不同语境对语言进行选择的过程。科技英语的翻译必须顺应语境,选择适切的文体。这种选择体现在三个维度上,第一个维度是文体功能的选择,第二个维度是文体正式程度和应用目的的选择,第三个维度是顺应目的语文本读者的社会文化背景而进行的选择。文体的适切性在译文中也就体现为是否选择了恰当的文体风格,是否符合特定的使用环境,是否能较好地为目的语读者所接受。顺应语境选择的要求,输出适切的文体,是我们科技英语翻译需要遵循的重要原则。
The use of language is based on different contexts of choice of language process. The translation of scientific English must conform to the context and select appropriate style. This choice is reflected in three dimensions. The first dimension is the choice of stylistic function. The second dimension is the choice of formal formality and purpose of application. The third dimension follows the social and cultural background of target readers s Choice. The appropriateness of the stylistic style also manifests in the translation whether the appropriate stylistic style is selected, whether it meets the specific usage environment, and whether it is well accepted by the target language readers. Conforming to the requirements of contextual choices and outputting appropriate styles is an important principle to be followed in our English translation of science and technology.
