The complex seismic data processing techniques currently available generally provide useful features such as amplitude and velocity, and these closely validated features are of crucial importance in predicting the presence and relative percentage of various lithologies. In this paper, the sand-shale ratio is calculated from the velocities of seismic lines that follow a particular seismic sequence. Seismic layer velocity is a persuasive and decisive factor in the relative lithology of a particular sequence. Therefore, it can be used as a general measure for predicting the area of the sand along certain seismic lines or regions. The only parameter required is the velocity of each component of the rock. These velocities can be derived from the percentage of rock components in a particular sequence controlled by at least two wells. Logs have been used to obtain information such as sand-shale ratios, which are then used to calculate the compositional velocities of various rocks. This paper is an attempt to determine the relative percentage of sand-shale in a sequence along a rather long seismic line in the Dambuti region. The seismic line connects the two formations and uses a mathematical model to calculate the sand-shale ratio. From these lithologic columns in the structural wells, it was found that sand-shale interbeds existed in the analyzed sequences. The results of the analysis indicate that clear belts have been shown along the seismic line within the sequence and that these belts or areas may be further exploration targets of interest for seismic surveys and drilling. The biggest advantage of this approach is the ability to get information about the sand zone without additional drilling and to help design future exploration activities. Moreover, the Law makes use of the available information and does not require more investment or effort from exploration companies. In addition, it is possible to determine the sand-shale ratio in areas with only seismic control, which is currently only possible where drilling controls are available. Although there are some limitations to this approach, the results of its application are encouraging and provide very good information.
