2007年6月28日,两架军用直升机陆续从四川省石渠县洛须镇起飞,拉开了“世界屋脊”剿灭蝗虫行动的帷幕。这是中国首次派出军队帮助藏区群众消灭蝗灾,涉及西藏、四川蝗灾最严重的3个县,时间持续十天。30名官兵参与了这次灭蝗行动,并为此准备和训练了两个月……07年夏的灭蝗行动创造了一项纪录:军用直升机在海拔3200米的青藏高原上,第一次以低于10米的高度飞行作业。
On June 28, 2007, two military helicopters took off one after another from Lossu Town, Shiqu County, Sichuan Province, opening the curtain of the “Roof of the World” campaign to destroy locusts. This is the first time that China has dispatched troops to help Tibetan people eliminate locust plague in three counties involving Tibet and the locust plague in Sichuan Province, which lasted ten days. Thirty officers and men participated in this locust campaign and prepared and trained for two months ... The Locust Campaign in the summer of 2007 created a record: Military helicopters on the Tibetan Plateau at 3,200 meters above sea level for the first time Flying at altitudes below 10 meters.
