中唐趙璘編著的《因話録》中,政治資料十分豐富,大量記録了帝王和官宦的言行,以及官署機構和制度規範的材料。書中有不少商業貨幣流通的信息和消費風俗的資料,有大量禮儀禮俗、文學、宗教信仰、文娱體育的資料,對研究唐代政治、經濟和社會生活、思想文化,具有獨特的參考價值。《因話録》言必有據,有較高的價值,這與趙璘寫作時的資料來源有關。書中的材料,有的來自於作者的親身經歷和親眼所見,有的來自於趙璘宗族人員的傳聞、同僚與友人的談資,以及參考了其他書籍。因此,這是一本具有較高學術價值的筆記。
