1969年第一盒盒式录像带诞生的时候,国外经济学家曾经有个著名的预言:当视频图像可以进入千家万户的时候,一个巨大的朝阳产业将会诞生出来.“,”The gross income of the audiovisual industry of China in 1999 was a humble 1.27billion RMB, while a new Japanese popsinger's album sold nearly 200 million USdollars. A single album sold more than awhole country's audiovisual products. That's really a shock. What's more, Chinesefamilies have the greatest audiovisualfacilities in the world, a market that shouldhave seen easy profit. A combination offactors contributes to this embarrassingsituation. The key two are rigid productionand distribution mechanism, and rampantpiracy, both of which repress vigor inChinese audiovisual industry. Today, the whole businessis on the verge of collapse.Foreign companies will beseeking “cross revenge” for thepiracy in China after the nationjoins the WTO; the big five ofthe music industry and the bigeight of the movies industry arebreathing down our neck. Thisindustry is literally fighting forexistence. A huge revolution in the audiovisualindustry has begun since 2001, in whichpiracy is for the first time regarded as thesult, rather than the cause, of the lopsided development of the Chinese audiovisual industry. To break free of the shackles and to reform the distribution channels have become the secret weapons to solve problems once and for all.
