At present, the reform of state-owned enterprises is at a critical stage. The recently convened Central Economic Work Conference and the provincial economic work conference all made arrangements for corporate reforms next year. In 1997, in the reform of state-owned enterprises in our province, we must further implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the Party, the Fifth and Sixth Central Committee of the Party, and take Comrade Deng Xiaoping’s theory of building socialism with Chinese characteristics as the guide to advance the “two fundamental” changes. In order to improve the overall efficiency of the national economy, we must further handle the relationship between “reform, development, and stability” and adhere to the principle of “striving in stability, seeking progress in a tight middle”.
