据苏联《亚非民族》1986年第一期报道,1985年5月,苏联学术界为纪念波塔宁诞辰一百五十周年,在科学院西伯利亚分院历史语文哲学研究所召开了题为“西伯利亚及毗邻地区民族文化的形成与发展”的学术报告会。来自全苏三十二个城市的一百三十余名专家、学者参加了会议。波塔宁一生致力于西伯利亚考古和民族学研究,同时也涉猎蒙古和中国北方民俗研究。他曾到过中央亚和中国的一些地区进行考察,并且是第一个到过西藏边缘地区的俄国学者,他对该地区的民族文化作过描述。
According to the first issue of the “Asian-African People” in the Soviet Union in 1986, in May 1985, in order to commemorate the 150th birthday of Portonen, the Soviet academy held a symposium titled “The History of Siberian and Adjacent areas of ethnic culture and the formation and development of ”academic report. More than 130 experts and scholars from 32 cities across the country attended the meeting. Botanin devoted his life to Siberian archeology and ethnology, but also involved Mongolia and North China folklore research. He has visited some areas of Central Asia and China and is the first Russian scholar who has been to the margins of Tibet to describe the national culture in the area.
