Spain’s “intranet” radar was developed after the country’s Incear company introduced its target radar technology for the “Mstar” campaign to Thorn-Ily of the United Kingdom in 1990. After three years of research and development, the radar passed the range test at the El Retin Range in September 1992. In December of the same year, Inisell delivered the first two “intranet” Radar prototypes to the Spanish Army. The company also manufactured a third prototype radar for further development. NATO countries and other parts of Spain, such as the National Guard and the Marine Corps, will also be equipped with “Arne” radar. The “Arne” radar aims to replace the “Syracuse” currently serving in the Spanish army’s infantry and armored reconnaissance units
