Catastrophe models estimate risk at the inter-section of hazard,exposure,and vulnerability.Each of these areas requires diverse sources of data,which are very often incomplete,inconsistent,or missing altogether.The poor quality of the data is a source of epistemic uncer-tainty,which affects the vulnerability models as well as the output of the catastrophe models.This article identifies the different sources of epistemic uncertainty in the data,and elaborates on strategies to reduce this uncertainty,in par-ticular through identification,augmentation,and integra-tion of the different types of data.The challenges are illustrated through the Florida Public Hurricane Loss Model (FPHLM),which estimates insured losses on resi-dential buildings caused by hurricane events in Florida.To define the input exposure,and for model development,calibration,and validation purposes,the FPHLM teams accessed three main sources of data:county tax appraiser databases,National Flood Insurance Protection (NFIP)portfolios,and wind insurance portfolios.The data from these different sources were reformatted and processed,and the insurance databases were separately cross-refer-enced at the county level with tax appraiser databases.The FPHLM hazard teams assigned estimates of natural hazard intensity measure to each insurance claim.These efforts produced an integrated and more complete set of building descriptors for each policy in the NFIP and wind portfolios.The article describes the impact of these uncertainty reductions on the development and validation of the vul-nerability models,and suggests avenues for data improvement.Lessons learned should be of interest to professionals involved in disaster risk assessment and management.

江苏省作为我国的经济大省,对其进行环境持久性药物污染物(EPPPs)的污染特征与生态风险评估研究很有必要.本研究以江苏省1~4级河流和面积≥50 km2的湖泊为研究目标,对EPPPs的污染现状进行检测和分析.结果 表明,江苏省地表水中共检出35种EPPPs,浓度范围为66.74~2189.83 ng·L-1;该研究主要对检出率大于25%的17种EPPPs进行了探讨,其浓度水平为72.48~1142.79 ng·L-1,浓度均值为345.20 ng· L-.EPPPs总浓度水平苏北和苏南浓度水平高于苏中地区

为研究不锈钢芯板一字形剪力墙的抗震性能,完成了在不同轴压比、不同面板厚度以及不同芯管排布下,四个不锈钢芯板一字形剪力墙构件的拟静力试验,研究了构件在低周往复荷载作用下的变形特征和破坏模式,分析了构件在水平荷载作用下滞回曲线、骨架曲线、荷载特征值、延性系数、刚度退化、承载力退化以及耗能能力等抗震性能.试验结果表明:不锈钢芯板一字形剪力墙发生压弯破坏,且破坏形态均表现为构件根部位置的侧板与面板发生局部屈曲;面板厚度越大,承载力越高;当构件面板与侧板厚度相同时,可以保证面板与侧板能够协同工作,有较好的延性以及耗
基于梁柱顶底角钢连接节点的良好耗能能力特点,提出了一种由顶底角钢连接的预制钢筋混凝土柱与型钢梁干法连接的梁柱节点连接形式。以梁柱边节点为研究对象,针对两组6个节点分别开展了单调静力加载及循环加载试验研究,探讨分析了该类型节点的抗弯性能、抗震性能以及相应的破坏模式。单调静力加载试验结果表明,梁高的增加不但会延迟螺栓滑移,还会提高节点的初始转动刚度和节点的抗弯承载力;梁端螺栓排数的提高不仅会增加节点的抗弯承载力,在一定程度上还避免了滑移现象的产生。循环加载试验考察了各个试件的滞回曲线、耗能、刚度、延性。结果表
