In the first half of 2014, the fiction book market witnessed a year-on-year growth rate of 4.97%, representing a year-on-year positive growth as compared with the same period of last year. Among the various sub-categories, the general contemporary Chinese fiction still dominates while the youthful campus novels cool down significantly. In the first half of 2014, the fiction book market grew by 4.97% YoY, higher than the overall year-on-year growth rate of the book market. Compared with the same period of last year, the novel category achieved year-on-year positive growth for three consecutive years. Among the various sub-categories, the general contemporary Chinese fiction still dominates while the youthful campus novels cool down significantly. Fiction bestseller is still Swordsman, sales are considerable. As the main force of fictitious books, fiction books continue to have a vast readership and strong reading needs, maintaining a good growth momentum.
