清华简《系年》提供了从春秋末期到战国早期史事的新见材料,极大地弥补了古史有关这一时段记载之不足。古人作史,有人、时、事、地四项。这些是档案最基本的要素,史书之体裁即滥觞于此(参李零《简帛古书与学术源流(修订本)》,三联书店,2004,281页)。作为“史书”的《系年》,也概莫能外。笔者依据《系年》所载战国早期的史实,对一些存在争议的,有关“地”的问题进行一些讨论。《史记·六国年表》序言曾经评论:
Tsinghua’s “Department of Year” provided new insights into the historical events from the late Spring and Autumn Period to the early Warring States Period, which greatly remedied the shortcomings recorded in the history of this ancient period. The ancients made history, somebody, time, thing, and four. These are the most basic elements of the archives. The genres of history books originated from this genre (cf. Li Zu, “Ancient and Modern Silk Screening and Academic Sources (Revised Edition)”, Joint Publishing, 2004, p.281). As “history ” of the “Department of”, also no exception. Based on the historical facts of the early Warring States contained in “Department of the Year”, the author discusses some controversial issues concerning “land”. “Historical Records Six Nations Chronology” Preamble once commented:
