80年代以来,随着美军开始大批招募女兵,军营中的性别差异意识不断淡化。在有大批女性入伍的最初几年里,这些女军人基本上无忧无虑。她们的工作大部分被严格地限制在非作战岗位上。对她们来说,入伍是“学习技术和看世界”的机会。难怪美国海军的募兵招贴画上连续多年一直登载着“加入海军将使你饱览世界秀丽风光”的广告式用语。海湾战争后,特别是在克林顿总统上台后,国防部几乎彻底对女性敞开了大门。目前,除了前线步兵、装甲兵和炮兵等少数岗位全部由男性包揽外,女军人几乎是随处可见。
Since the 1980s, as the U.S. military began to recruit a large number of female soldiers, awareness of gender differences in the barracks has been steadily weakened. In the first few years when a large number of women were enlisted, these female soldiers were basically carefree. Most of their work is strictly limited to non-combat positions. For them, enlistment is an opportunity to “learn technology and see the world.” No wonder the United States Navy’s recruitment poster has been advertising for many years the ad that “joining the Navy will enable you to enjoy the beauty of the world.” After the Gulf War, especially after President Clinton came to power, the Defense Department opened the door to women almost completely. At present, except for a few posts such as front infantry, armor and artillery, which are all covered by men, female soldiers are almost everywhere.
