Pituitary dysfunction can occur in up to 50% of patients with traumatic brain injury. We know that the typical symptoms of TBI are disturbance of consciousness, attention deficit, impulsive behavior, depression and insomnia. The lesions in the anterior pituitary may be responsible for some of these symptoms. The purpose of this study was to determine the incidence of pituitary anterior pituitary deficiency in acute and moderate craniocerebral injury patients. 100 cases encompassing medium and severe brain injury patients involved in this study.
