Toll-like receptors 4 (TLR4) are important pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) that connect innate and specific immunity. Radiation therapy activates the inflammatory response pathway by promoting the release of endogenous and exogenous ligands of TLR4, which in turn affects the radiotherapy effect, which is a relatively challenging issue for clinical tumor radiotherapy.
