我国北方长期缺水,严重影响经济建设和人民生活。党中央、国务院经过几十年论证,终于下大决心作出了“用50年时间将长江之水送到北方”的重大决策,于是便有了举世闻名的南水北调工程。江苏扬州是该项工程的“东线”水源地。自2006年6月起,有细心的江苏城市居民发现,自己所在城市的自来水价格每吨悄然上涨了7分钱,涨价的名目是“代收南水北调工程基金”。
Long-term water shortages in northern China have seriously affected economic construction and people’s livelihood. After decades of demonstrations, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council finally determined to make the major decision of “sending the water of the Yangtze River to the north in 50 years”, so that it has the world-famous project of South-North Water Diversion. Yangzhou, Jiangsu is the “East Line ” water source of the project. Since June 2006, attentive urban residents in Jiangsu have found that the price of tap water in their own city has risen by 7 cents per tonne. The price increase is based on the “Collection of South-North Water Transfer Project Fund.”
