在地质科学界具有重大影响和举世瞩目的国际第四纪研究联合会第十三届大会,于8月2日至8月9日在北京国际会议中心隆重举行。来自五大洲47个国家和地区1200余名代表出席会议。61个国家和地区寄来论文摘要1768篇。 这次会议是近60年以来首次在亚洲召开,经中国组委会近5年积极筹备,开的很成功。显示出我国地质科学界担当主持这样艰巨、有广泛性、多学科性的国际会议的能力。 这次会议的主题是“人类与全球环境变化”。会议分7个学科53个专题交流712篇学术论文。 从发表学术论文看内容丰富、翔实、涉及广泛,都具有较高的学术价值,尤其我国第四纪的研究在如下几个方面取得成绩斐然。 1.黄土研究方面:我国著名地质学家刘东生教授对这方面作出卓越的贡献。被国际学术界公认为是构成第四纪科学研究的“三大支柱”之一,与欧美学者研究的深海沉积
The 13th Congress of the International Quaternary Research Federation, which has a significant impact in the geological science community and attracts worldwide attention, was held ceremoniously at the Beijing International Convention Center from August 2 to August 9. More than 1,200 delegates from 47 countries and regions on five continents attended the meeting. 61 countries and regions sent 1768 abstract abstracts. The meeting was held in Asia for the first time in nearly 60 years. After the Chinese organizing committee actively prepared for the past five years, it has been very successful. It shows that our geological science community is capable of hosting such an arduous, extensive and multidisciplinary international conference. The theme of this meeting is “Human and Global Environmental Change.” The conference is divided into 7 disciplines and 53 topics to exchange 712 academic papers. From the academic papers published content rich, informative, involving a wide range, have a high academic value, especially in China Quaternary research in the following areas have achieved impressive results. 1. Loess Research: Professor Liu Dongsheng, a famous geologist in our country, made outstanding contributions in this respect.
