网络打印与一般打印的最大不同在于它的三性:可管理性、易用性、高可靠性。其中最核心的是可管理性,真正的网络打印方案提供卓越的管理性,减少了管理人员用于处理网络打印相关问题的时间,直接降低了企业网络的管理成本。沈阳医学影像研究所的打印系统长期存在着打印速度慢、故障多、效率低和成本高的问题,美国利盟的网络激光打印解决方案解决了这一问题。沈阳医学影像研究所下设五个科室,内部局域网按科室分组,每组计算机数量从二十几台至三十几台不等。有四个科审配备的是不同品牌不同型号的激光打印机,有一个科室配备的是彩色喷墨打印机,每个科室利用一台计算机作打印服务器,打印机连接在这台打印服务器上,其它的计算机通过这台服务器进行共享打印。总结起来,沈阳医学影像研究所在打印上的问题主要集中体现在三个方面。一是打印速度慢,不稳定;
