作为两百多年前才刚刚建国的美国,今天能成为世界教育科研和学术研究中心,图书馆起到了举足轻重的作用。上个世纪50年代以来由于受到前苏联发射首枚人造卫星的激发,美国人曾经投下无数人力、物力、财力支持图书馆,乃至全美资讯系统的重建与整顿。因为美国早已意识到不断提高整个社会的教育和科研水平是保持国家可持续发展的重要原动力。在美国,“没有免费午餐”的原则不再适用,接受教育,包括利用图书馆的资源,已经成为社会的公共福利之一。美国的图书馆尤其是公共和大学图书馆,功能齐全,设备先进,资源丰富,信息及时准确,服务也更加专业化,在世界上处于领先的地位。中国学生赴美留学,一定要注意充分利用美国的各种图书馆资源,为自己的学习、科研和生活寻找最有力的帮手。下文简要地介绍一下美国的图书馆资源,为将要赴美的留学生提供参考。
As a United States that has just been founded more than two hundred years ago, today it can become a world center for education, scientific research and academic research. The library has played a decisive role. The following briefly introduces the library resources in the United States to provide a reference for the students who are going to the United States.
