陈叔通先生出身书香门第,父亲陈豪,兄陈汉弟均是近代著名画家。他本人精鉴赏,富收藏,广交书画名家。据其哲嗣陈循善言,临终前悉数慨捐北京故宫搏物院。他为友人姚华(茫父)、汤涤(定之)、杨元恺(无恙)等名家作品精印了几本书画颖拓作品集,传为艺林佳话,郑逸梅《艺林散叶》书中多有记载。八十年代中期,笔者在上海图书馆曾听顾廷龙先生谈及陈叔老生前为传播姚华颖拓的回忆。贵州纪念姚华
