唐家堡河小流域内,地形起伏不大,沟间地面积较大,占流域总面积的85.4%,平均坡度近12°;沟谷切割微弱,河道密度仅0.7—0.8公里/平方公里;降水较少,强度也不大,可是年侵蚀模数竟达4,500吨/平方公里。通过调查分析,并进行了不同流失方式侵蚀量的推算,发现这是由于各种因素的综合影响。该流域内有一种产沙量很大的季节性冻融泥流,它的产沙量可达总产沙量的36.5—41.8%。此类冻融泥流,在当地邻近许多县普遍存在。
