随着珠海经济特区建设的发展,外来工人数迅速增多,由建市初期的700多人增加到2000年底的22.6万多人,随着四面八方的外来工涌入珠海,劳资矛盾也日趋突出。几年来,珠海市各级政府以江总书记“三个代表”的思想为指针,在实践中不断提高维护外来工合法权益的认识和能力,并逐渐形成了一套比较科学的管理方法,初步找到了一条维护外来工合法权益与对外开放政策相统一的路子。
