所谓虎父无犬子,小赖特从20世纪20年代开始,就负责监督其父——大名鼎鼎的弗兰克·劳埃德·赖特(Frank Lloyd Wright,1867-1959)所设计的一个又一个被称之为“加利福尼亚杰作”的建筑作品的建造。最初他介入的作品便是著名的蜀葵别墅(本刊上期有过报道),当时其父远赴日本接受东京帝国大酒店的工作委托,他得以获得这样的机会:而与其合作的正是其父的助理,著名设计师鲁道夫·辛德勒(Rudoph Michael Schindler,1887-1953)。
