2006年7月3日一早,国家体育总局乒羽中心全体工作人员、在京的国家乒乓球、羽毛球队全体队员、趁乒超联赛短暂的间隙专程从各地赶回北京的王励勤、王皓等世界冠军们,以及在京主要新闻媒体的记者们分两路搭乘四辆大巴,赶赴位于北京市郊,丰台区宛平城的“抗日战争纪念馆”。在这个神圣而又肃穆,同时收纳了中华民族生与死、血与泪的抗战历史的场所里,我们的乒羽健儿们集体出席了“中国乒乓球、羽毛球队新党员入党宣誓仪式”的特别活动。
